Dog is Love.  If you think your dog really loves you, you are right! Clive Wynne, PhD, the founding director of the Canine Science Collaboratory at Arizona State University, now draws the same conclusion with his cutting-edge studies on the topic.  It’s a really enjoyable and happy read about man’s best friend and the relationships we have with them.  “Dog is Love” is highly recommended for anyone who wants to feel happier by finding out exactly “Why and How Your Dog Loves You.”   Read more about the Love of Pets here.

The Wine in 9 Course.  After going on many wine tasting adventures over the years, I decided it was time to learn a little bit about what I was drinking!  So heck, I thought it was time to take a little course, and I picked this one Wine in 9.  Now, I know this word, terroir (the complete natural environment in which a particular wine is produced, including factors such as the soil, topography, and climate).  It’s fun to learn about the complexities of making wine.  Here’s my installation on Wine Tasting is Fun for more happy wine conversation.  Take the course!

Laughter is the Best Medicine, it has been said.  In the much-loved series of Chicken Soup for the Soul, here is a collection of light-hearted stories that’ll make you laugh.  I wanted to feature this book because it supported the very notion of 38 Hertz.  That is, you can find simple things to make you happy, and here are peoples’ stories just like that.  My prescription to you is to read one story each morning as you start your day.  It’ll make you laugh, and laughing makes you happy!  Read about how laughter helps us be happy here.

Ancestry.com.   On Ancestry, for a pretty reasonable price, you can find out your DNA origins and build a family tree.  The photo to the left is a map of DNA origins.  Ancestry.com is the largest DNA database for North Americans.  Get your DNA results, then start your family tree.  You can start and stop your membership at any time so you can build your family tree when you’re in the mood, then easily take a break, keep your findings intact, then go back and do more research.   Finding your roots can make you happy!  Read the 38 Hertz article about it here.

The Family Tree Magazine is so fun and full of so many resources to help you find your roots to include cheat sheets, research resources, information about specific ethnicities, a treasure trove of historical facts.  Too many things to mention.  I decided to get the printed version because how fun to get mail again in a very digital age.   The website itself is full of incredibly interesting blog topics.  If you’re interested in getting serious about your family tree search, I highly recommend the Family Tree Magazine, or even if you’re just a history buff.  Have you ever thought of being a geneologist?  Family Tree can help you find your way to that also.  How can finding your roots make you happy?  Read about it here.
