Yes, wine tasting is fun!

I don’t drink much at home, to be honest, but I enjoy wine tasting and meeting up for a little happy hour. I don’t call myself a wine enthusiast at all. In fact, I’m a pretty poor discerner of it. I mean, I guess I can recognize a bad wine, and hey I might like that one a little better than that one, but is it dry or oaky or woody or fruity, or better yet, is it better than the one we tasted five years ago?

So you know what, guys? As I started to write this article, I thought to myself, why not take an online course on wine? So I did. And it’s here for you too. Wine in 9: The Complete Winetasting Course. It also helped me to realize more, wine tasting is fun! It’s a little more fun when you know a little more about it.

So, let’s explore why wine tasting is fun, in moderation of course. One thing that I do with a few friends a few times a year is go wine tasting. Guys, I am in Portland, Oregon and wine country is about 30 minutes out our back door. It’s sooooo much fun to go for a drive out in this beautiful country. Ok, a couple of things about wine tasting. Be sure you have a designated driver. Number two, don’t forget, all of those “little tastes” add up. If you have substance abuse issues, this won’t be the activity for you. And, if you have too much wine? That’s not so fun either. I’m reminded of hangovers, and SciTechDaily gives a nice summary of what the heck is going on when you are hung way over.
